DE FACTO JUST-US SYSTEM
MOVES AGAINST REPUBLIC PATRIOT

Yesterday reporters from four major channels and several other news media witnessed the unlawful eviction of Assistant Secretary of Science and Technologies Lauren Lynn Savage, and his two sons, Robert and David, from their home in Grand Prairie. His mother and a group of close friends, as well as Secretary of Science and Technologies Jeffrey Katz, were present to offer them moral support, as this travesty of injustice was perpetrated against our fellow Texian and well-known author.

His home, which also served as northern headquarters for the Republic, had been declared an "historical landmark" by the City of Grand Prairie some time ago, and Lauren had been responsible for its purchase 20 years ago, and later allowed its remodelling for use by several officers of the Republic of Texas. It took a small army of half a dozen deputy constables (in black uniforms), led by the Constable himself, as well as two or three police cars and two "Code Enforcement" people (all of them armed) to morally overpower a man of slight build (with a broken neck) and his aging mother and father and two boys, by sheer force of numbers.

When the time came, we decided against allowing the constables to remove our flag, and thereby defiling it. Instead, under protest and coercion, we solemnly lowered it and folded it properly in expectation of (one day soon) raising it again, never again to be lowered. WE SHALL OVERCOME!

We had an excellent RT Meeting in Dallas, last night, at the Hilltop Inn. A number of subjects were covered, including the latest developments on media coverage. There were several new faces, as well as some uninformed (or misinformed) returnees, which had to be brought "up to speed."

Check the "Meeting Schedule" section (under "Other RT Metings"), for details about the upcoming "Information Meeting" to be held in Waco. And speaking of information, I've been meaning to mention the new 24-hour Information Line. Here it is: (972) XXX-XXXX. Jackie and Heather are really doing an outstanding job with it. Have a listen and tell all your friends and neighbors and everybody else about it.

In case you haven't heard, Bill Davis has published a Republic of Texas Newsletter. The first issue is already out and available. You can order it by e-mail at:

"Lauren's Day In Court" has been posted to the "Editorials" section. Take time to read it; you'll enjoy it. I believe it represents an important victory (as well as an excellent "precedent") for us within the "de facto" court system. It opens the door to many more similar cases, while we look forward to a fully lawful justice system. May it be soon!

It's a sunny and warm day in Dallas. Congratulations are in order for Lauren Savage, who with "a little help from his friends" had his case "dismissed" in court today. Just one of those little victories for Justice. It may interest you to know that we made it to about 18 unanimous resolutions and motions of the General Council, before hitting a "snag" of one vote against and one abstention. This record (achieved in Uvalde) will be hard to beat! Also of interest is the fact that the position of Secretary of Commerce and Trade has been temporarily filled by appointment, until the Convention of Delegates can elect a permanent one. More about this later.

Another two successful General Council Meetings were held this weekend. This time in the City of Uvalde, County of Uvalde, District #26, Republic of Texas. The minutes of the Nacogdoches GC Meetings have now been posted to the "Meeting Summary Section." Please bear with me; I'm experiencing some technical difficulties with the HTML software.

Friends, your patience has been rewarded. Please find the Minutes of the General Council Meeting in Austin on December 7, 1996 - posted to the "Meeting Summary" section. Foes, don't bother to read them - it's all good news for the Republic - you won't like it.

Wednesday, January 1, 1997 "

Today is the very first day of the rest of my life. This is the beginning of a new day. I have been given this day to use as I WILL. I can waste it ... or use it for good, but what I do today is important, because I am exchanging a day of my life for it! When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving in its place something that I have traded for it. I want it to be gain, and not loss; good and not evil; success, and not failure; in order that I shall not regret the price that I have paid for it. I will try just for today, for you never fail until you stop trying."

Please check the "Meeting Schedule" section to see the corrections and updates in the General Council meeting calendar. Also check the "Republic Officers" section for updated info. and the subsection: "Positions to be Filled."
