Here's one for OUR SIDE!!!! From Dallas Morning News, Feb. 22, 1997

Republic of Texas member not in contempt

Associated Press AUSTIN --- A member of the Republic of Texas movement, which contends that the state was unlawfully annexed by Congress in 1845, has won a round in the Texas Supreme Court. Ralph Kenneth Evans successfully challenged a criminal contempt judgment issued against him after he sued a state judge in federal court. The case arose after the city of Dallas sued Mr. Evans in 1993, alleging he violated a city building code provision, and Mr. Evans lost. Mr. Evans then sued state District Judge Candace Tyson, who presided over the court where the earlier case was filed. In that federal court case he contended that Judge Tyson violated his civil rights in the earlier lawsuit. The federal court dismissed Mr. Evans' lawsuit. Mr. Evans subsequently purported to sue Judge Tyson in the "Republic of Texas, Milam District Court of Common Law Pleas" and filed another fictitious lawsuit to the "Superior Court of Dallas County" according to the court opinion. Judge Tyson obtained a temporary injunction in the 14th District Court in Dallas County saying Mr. Evans could not file another lawsuit against Judge Tyson anywhere except the 14th District Court, unless he obtained an order from the 14th District Court. Violating the injunction, Mr. Evans filed another lawsuit against Judge Tyson in federal court. The state district court found Mr. Evans in contempt and sentenced him to 180 days in jail. He was jailed in September, then released on bond while the Supreme Court considered the case. The Supreme Court on Friday said the state trial court had no authority to keep Mr. Evans from filing a federal court lawsuit and found the contempt judgment against him to be void.

More information now online - See the list of "Definitions" in the section "About the Republic." Its the closest thing we have to a "platform" for the RT. You may want to copy it and hand it to anyone interested in what we have to say. It should help them understand what we're all about.   Also see the new info. posted to "Other Meetings."

Check the new information posted to the section: "About the Republic." It's a chart that compares life in the R.T. with life (?) in the Corporate State of Texas.

Several new things are now posted, including some new sections. First in importance is a section called "Treasury," which has information on contributing to the Republic of Texas.

Next, we have a whole new category of pages under the heading of "Presidential Pages." Look for it on the "Home Page," under the list of Contents. This includes the subsections called: *Investment in Freedom* - Showtime - Coming Attractions and The President Speaks Out. The first one of these explains the commemorative coin program. The second includes information about the President's participation in and around the next General Council Meeting. The third tells about the "Media Blitz." And the last will have articles by [former president]David Johnson.

There have been changes done to several other sections, including the "Main Page," "A Page of History," "Alert - Warning," "Responses," "Remember This?" Hope you like them.

Local Media Covers Meeting in Waco

Correspondents from two Waco channels (10 & 25) were present at the RT Information Meeting last night, broadcasting live reports from the meeting hall. Earlier, at around 3:30, Ch.10 interviewed Secretary of State Daniel Coheleth López, for 20 to 30 minutes. Then, Ch.25 did a short interview also. The meeting was attended by a group of people from the Waco area, as well as visitors from the D/FW Metroplex, and others. Several of the local folks had questions about RT affairs; most seemed to be satisfied with the answers.

[February 2, 1997]
GREAT GRANDMOTHER JAILED IN DALLAS
Who are the real Terrorists?

The news media continues to put out the government propaganda line about how the people of the Republic of Texas are a "militia group," and paint the picture that we should be feared. They call us "paper terrorists." However, on Friday, January 31, 1997 at approximately 11:30 AM, armed men of the Dallas and Tarrant County Sheriff's Departments kidnapped a 77 year old great grandmother from the parking lot of Albertson's grocery store in Grand Prairie.

A true "paper terrorist," Mike Blalack of Irving (an Attorney at Law), pushed a judge in Dallas, Judge Bruce Woody, to issue a "Writ of Attachment" for Alice Irene: (Enloe) over a case that began two years ago in the Dallas County Court at Law No. 4. In June of 1995 the case was removed to the newly formed People's Court of Common Law and adjudicated there. Blalack has continued to harass Irene ever since and the Dallas court ignored the people and continued with the case ultimately issuing a "judgment" against Irene, but it didn't end there. Terrorist Attorney Blalack pushed for a "Post Judgment Deposition" in an attempt to extort money from her through his system of legalized plunder. All this over a "debt" that had legally and lawfully been discharged.

Speaking of legal, the "Writ of Attachment" for a person is not. The Texas Supreme Court ruled several years ago that using this type of writ to arrest a person was unconstitutional and illegal. Yet the real terrorists, the judges and attorneys of the defacto system, continue to use them to incarcerate people on a daily basis. Irene is being held in the Dallas County Jail without arraignment or bond. Judge Woody "ordered" her to be "detained" until his court is in session and he decides to bring her in and harass her further. No wonder these guys think they are gods, when they have hundreds of blind followers with guns on their hips who will do anything they say, regardless of the law.

The prayers of the people are being heard and God is giving Irene strength to endure this at this time. She says she is "more determined than ever to fight for the cause" as a result of this illegal activity by the de facto government terrorists. Please keep up your prayers for IreneÕs spiritual and physical well-being and for a victorious resolution to this horrendous situation.

God Bless you for your prayers and support!!

Jesse Enloe

P.S. We don't usually see into the future, but we're pretty sure there is a Title 42 lawsuit in the future for these guys.
