Mr. Cornyn:
On October 19, 2001 we sent you a notice in the nature of a Criminal Complaint and respectfully asked for a timely response. To date we have received no response from you or your office.
Mr. Cornyn, we are aware that many State of Texas officials regard the people in our group as being "extremists" and/or people who have wild, unfounded beliefs. This is understandable if the only thing they know about us is the extremely slanted information they have gotten from the media. We also recognize that, in the beginning of our movement, we had some less than desirable characters affiliated with us. Those characters have been weeded out and have either been incarcerated or have gone their own way.
Mr. Cornyn, we are a group of sincere, serious people who are concerned about things that ALL Texans are, or should be, concerned about. If we are extreme, it is only in the sense that we are extremely interested in truth, justice, and freedom for ALL the people of Texas.
The notice we sent to you concerning what we consider to be fraud being perpetrated against the people of Texas was sent with the sincere desire of getting at the truth regarding this matter. It is, of course, our sincere desire to have this matter corrected if we are right in our conclusions.
Can you imagine how frustrating it is to attempt to bring to light what appears to be a massive fraud and have ALL inquiries to government officials fall on deaf ears? As we said in our last letter to you we have sent notices to all County Commissioners Courts, all County Clerks, all State Congressmen and all State Senators prior to writing to you. As stated previously, we have received NO reply that is responsive to our information.
This leads us to think that there can only be two possible reasons for the total lack of response to our inquiries.
If the first reason is the case, it really leaves us without words. The United States of America and Texas were both founded on the principle that the People are Sovereign and are in control of the Government. What has happened that has allowed the so-called government officials to become so arrogant as to be so completely dismissive of the very people from whom they derive their positions?
If there is continued neglect and failure on your part to respond then it is left to us to draw our own conclusions as to the reasons for your lack of response. We ended our last letter with this statement: "We stand willing to be corrected if our conclusions are in error, and that is why it is so ominous that no government official has attempted this to date."
Since we know ourselves and the true desire of our hearts, which is simply to have a government that follows the law as established by the people – it’s called the Constitution – we will choose to reject the first possible reason for lack of response and conclude that we are, in fact, correct in our conclusions that there is indeed a massive fraud being perpetrated upon the people of Texas and we will continue our efforts to bring this to the light of day in order to help all Texans.
Once again, Mr. Cornyn, we are neither lawyers nor do we consider ourselves to be "legal experts". But we do know right from wrong. We have researched the matter enough to come to the understanding that the process that is being used to defraud the People of their property and the fruit of their labor is not constitutional, legal or lawful.
We would truly appreciate a response.
Respectfully,
/s/
Coolidge Gerdes, Auditor Earl Forester, Treasure
Ed Brannum, Secretary of Privatization
